Kovarik named First Team Academic All-District

Joanna Kovarik was named to the 2009 ESPN the Magazine College Division All-District 7 First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Kovarik, a junior back for the Lady Miners, from Gladstone, Mo., maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.95 and helped anchor the S&T defense.
She is now eligible for selection to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American Team.
To be eligible for nomination to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.
