Emily Tucker named to Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region squad
(Rolla, Mo.) – Missouri S&T senior outfielder Emily Tucker was named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-Midwest region announced on Thursday by the NFCA office. In addition to that honor she has also been selected to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region second team and ESPN the Magazine/COSIDA Academic All-District second team squad.

Tucker, a senior from St. Louis, Mo, led the Lady Miners in almost every offensive category this season including batting average .365, runs scored 33, doubles 14, home runs 7, total bases 97, walks 14, hits 58, slugging percentage .610 and stolen bases with 19. She was also tied for the team lead in triples with 2 and second on the team with 22 RBIs.

Tucker finished her four year career at S&T as the school leader in doubles with 52 and RBIs (111) while ranking in the top five in five other categories. She is third in home runs and career batting average, fourth in hits and runs scored and fifth in at bats. Tucker is also seventh in games played with 180.

She will move on to the NFCA national ballot to compete for a spot on the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American team.

Tucker is majoring in engineering management.

The Lady Miners finished the 2009 season with a 21-28 mark and were eighth in the GLVC with a 10-12 ledger.
