Missouri S&T has 101 named to GLVC's All-Academic team for 2008-09

Missouri S&T had 101 of its student-athletes named today to the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s All-Academic team for the recently completed 2008-09 school year. All student-athletes with a 3.30 or better cumulative grade point average in a conference sport are eligible for selection to the team.
S&T was among six schools in the GLVC that had at least 100 student-athletes named to the league’s All-Academic team. The men’s track & field team and women’s soccer teams accounted for the largest number with 14 selections apiece, while the men’s soccer and women’s track & field teams had 13 of its members make the squad. The men’s soccer and track teams had the highest numbers for their respective sports in the conference.
In addition to the 101 selections to the GLVC’s All-Academic team, Missouri S&T also had 11 of its football players chosen to the Great Lakes Football Conference’s all-academic squad as well as 11 from the swimming team to the NSISC all-academic team, giving the institution a total of 123 academic awards for the past athletic season.
A total of 1,122 student-athletes were named from the 13 GLVC institutions to the All-Academic team for the 2008-09 season.
