Missouri S&T Men's Track & Field National Letter of Intent Signings
(As of May 30, 2008, 4 p.m.)

JASON BARRY, from School of the Osage in Osage Beach, Mo.: Barry, who will compete in both track and cross country at Missouri S&T, finished second at the Missouri Class 2 state cross country championships in the fall with a time of 16:51 over five kilometers for a team that finished third at the state meet. Barry has also earned all-state honors in track.

ERIC FAIRBAIRN, from Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Okla.: Fairbairn competes in cross country and in the middle distance events, where he ran a time of 1:58.25 at this year's Oklahoma Class 5 State Championships in the 800-meters to take second place. During the cross country season, Fairbairn finished seventh at the Class 4 state meet, running a time of 16:59 in the state meet to help lead his team to the championship.

JOE SKELTON, from Potosi High School in Potosi, Mo.: Skelton was the fifth place finisher at the Missouri Class 3 cross country championships in the 5,000-meters, posting a time of 16:25 in the race held in November to help his team win the state championship. Skelton, who also took third in the cross country district race, ran on Potosi's state championship 4x800-meter relay last season.

ELIJAH THOMAS, from Webster Groves High School in Webster Groves, Mo.: Thomas, a sprinter and jumper for the Statesmen, has posted a mark of 22-2 in the long jump this season after going 22-6 as a junior. As a junior, he placed seventh in the long jump at the Missouri Class 4 state meet. He also competed in the high jump and cleared six feet in the event during the 2007 season.

GEORGE THOMAS, from Marshfield High School in Marshfield, Mo.: Thomas finished ninth in the 5,000-meters at the Missouri Class 3 cross country championships with a time of 16:41 in the November race. Thomas earned the berth to the state meet on an individual basis by finishing fifth at the district meet with a time of 16:17.

DERICK WINKLE, from Granite City High School in Granite City, Ill.: Winkle was a state qualifier in the hurdle events, and this season has times of 14.40 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 39.32 seconds in the 300-hurdles; he also competes as part of his team's 4x400-meter relay team which has the ninth-best time in the St. Louis area this season of 3:23.49.
